Rock N’ Roll’s mantra could be, “If it’s too loud you’re too old”. Here are 5 of the loudest classic rock concerts throughout history. 5. The Beatles at Shea Stadium in 1965 are estimated to have reached over 130 decibels, most of that volume came from the crowd. 4. Deep Purple at the Rainbow Theater in 1972 peaked at 117 decibels. 3. KISS at Ottawa Bluesfest in 2009 hit 136 decibels. 2. AC/DC during their 1980 Back in Black tour routinely broke 130 decibels. 1. The Who at Valley Stadium in 1976 was recorded by Guinness at 126 decibels and remains the World record because Guinness discontinued the category for fear of encouraging hearing damage.

  1. SUNN O))) measures 140 +/- 5 dB at the front of the stage and they have signs stating "hearing protection mandatory". If you've never been I would encourage seeing them at least once just to experience something so unfathomably LOUD. Just remember hearing protection. I have seen them twice and wore audiophile ear plugs and still couldn't hear for a couple of days after.

  2. What about when Ted Nugent cracked the walls at the Memorial Auditorium in Sac. Ca. Thats when they closed it because it wasn't earthquake safe! Thanks Ted, it hurt our ears so bad! 🤣😂😝🎸🎶🎵

  3. Never mind about loud music it is the quality of the music which the who went way above anybody ACD AC/DC get to they’re trying to reach crowd and make a statement but you’re blowing peoples eardrums out if you’re on a seeds with earplugs, but what the hell are you doing asshole to other people?

  4. I saw The Who in Orlando in 1983. My ears bled the next day. It literally scared me but I thought it was cool too. But looking back I wish I would have worn ear plugs. I joined the army in 1987 and had hearing loss on my record. Being I was sent to Fort Polk it was too dam humid to keep ear plugs in during the dead of summer. So my hearing loss was made much worse. Of course the VA has never helped me with hearing aides either. Today the VA charges for things you don’t sign up for and never asked for. IOW they try and rob me every chance they get. So I literally cut out all my prescriptions and won’t sign up for anything from them. I’m waiting till President Trump regains the White House and forces them to play fair again. When Clinton, Bush, Obama, and now Obiden ( The Swamp ) we’re in the VA sucked. When Trump was in the VA was actually pretty good. But it aucks again thanks to CORRUPTION being in power!!!

  5. the AC/DC Back In Black tour was awesome…. i seen them in Melbourne at the Myer Music bowl supported by The Angels….. it was an absolute moment in Australian rock history.

  6. The loudest performance I ever heard was The Who in Ottawa, Canada, on October 15, 1969. The reason it was so loud was that the venue was the Capitol movie theatre. My ears were ringing for hours after the show, but they were fantastic.
