Spotlight on The Doors’ guitarist and master songwriter – Robby Krieger.

2 минуты чтение

When Jim Morrison encouraged every band member to try writing, Krieger accepted the challenge, crafting “Light My Fire” overnight. It was the first of his string of hits which included “Roadhouse Blues,” “Peace Frog,” and “Love Her Madly.”

The Doors channel is the official YouTube home of classic Doors live performances, The Doors albums, and contemporary performances and content honoring The Doors featuring John Densmore and Robby Krieger.

With an intoxicating, genre-blending sound, provocative and uncompromising songs, and the mesmerizing power of singer Jim Morrison’s poetry and presence, The Doors had a transformative impact not only on popular music but on popular culture.

The Doors’ arrival on the rock scene in 1967 marked not only the start of a string of hit singles and albums that would become classics, but also of something much bigger – a new and deeper relationship between creators and audience. Refusing to be mere entertainers, the Los Angeles quartet relentlessly challenged, confronted and inspired their fans, leaping headfirst into the heart of darkness while other bands warbled about peace and love. Though they’ve had scores of imitators, there’s never been another band quite like them.

  1. I live in the Pittsburgh area. About ten years ago Robbie was at a small venue called the Chelsea grill. I wanted to go to see him. I felt so sick a few days before the show, I didn’t go because I didn’t want to get anyone else sick. I hope I get another chance. The Doors have always been my favorite. It’s sad to think that there’s only Robbie and John left of a magical band.

  2. I love the doors. Jim gets all the spotlight but it wouldn’t have been possible without Ray, Robbie and John too. These 4 guys made music that will live forever, and music I’ll listen to till I die. Rock on!

  3. Профи недооцененный критиками. Прекрасный гитарист. Я всегда восхищалась его манерой игры и поведением на сцене. Он никогда не кривлялся на сцене и всегда слушал, то, что играл.

  4. Robby Krieger is one of the greats. He was very young when The Doors became famous and always seems so lacking in ego – marvellous. I saw him in Liverpool in the late 80s as part of a tour called "Night Of The Guitars". I was in my early twenties and got a ticket just to see him. There were other great guitarists there, like Steve Howe, Alvin Lee and that brilliant force of nature, Leslie West. It was great. Robby Krieger sauntered on to play two songs, so laid-back. He played and sang "Love Me Two Times" and "Roadhouse Blues." I'm so glad he and John Densmore are still with us.😊

  5. RK seemed to have the right influence & style at the right time for the right band of dudes that sounds like No Other ‘60s Band before, during or after. what’s that called?…other than fate?! we love ya, Mr. Krieger.

  6. Always wanted me a Gibson SG because of Krieger. What an underrated guitar player! The Doors are my favorite band of all time, I remember listening my dad sing songs from The Doors all the time as a kid when he had his band. Such a well rounded and multifaceted group.

  7. He was like Eric Dolphy, John Coltrane, Sabicas and Ravi Shankar, but on guitar: he mixed modal jazz with classical Spanish/flamenco and Indian raga, absolutely unique proto fusion style. His modal solo on When the Music's over is one of the highest peaks of electric guitar playing. Not to mention his never heard before slide bottleneck style on electric guitar.

  9. For us DOORS fans Robbie can never be Underrated ❤. But for the rest of the populace not so much. Got a chance to see rob+ray when they toured under that name cuz the Dopey drummer sued to prevent them traveling under the banner of the DOORS which was Sinful. Jim never liked this Curmudgeon anyway

  10. En Vélez Sarsfield te fui a ver , también estaba RAY MANZAREK 😭💔🙏🕊️ QEPD FALLECIÓDO EN 2013 , LA ROMPIERON JAMAS LO OVIDARE , AGUANTE THE DOORS Y MI AMOR ETERNITY 😎🖤💯 JIM MORRISON 🍻🎸🎹🎤🪗
